A Thanksgiving Prayer for This Year
God, as we gather around our tables,
remembering all far and near,
We are grateful for Your keeping provision
that’s kept us through another wild year.
Through ups and down, the ins and outs,
Your faithfulness clings for sure.
Through difficult moments and challenging days,
Our souls have remained secure.
We’re bound in Your love, Your hope and grace,
as we remember why we’re here today.
We will enjoy each other and sing Your praise
on this Thanksgiving Day.

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving poem. I’m so grateful for the Lord’s steadfast love, mercy, and grace through every storm. He is faithful!

God it really has not been
the easiest, for me, of years,
but I hope my friends have seen
me praising You through falling tears.
It is so hard, this daily dying
with no bright vacation days,
and I really would be lying
to claim that cancer does not faze
the heart that once anticipated
a shining rising upward path,
but somehow life’s now coruscated
with bright stars that make me laugh,
gratefulful time’s not up quite yet,
my thanks an example I can set.
Gratefulful? I just LOVE inventing new words.
I misread your invention as “grateful” so I guess we could call that a grace reading.
